Let’s talk about periods.
Once a month Aunt Flo decides to show up, bringing along cramps and cravings with her. If you’re one of the lucky ladies who has a consistent period every single month, then I envy you! I can only imagine what it must be like to really know when that monthly surprise is going to happen, and that’s why I can’t live without my period tracker: the Clue App.
I started using Clue about 4 years ago to keep track of my periods because it got to a point where I had no idea if it was going to show up on day 26 or day 35. Yeah, the time frame was that far apart and it’s no fun stressing out for a week and a half, running to the bathroom every 5 seconds to check.

After I started using Clue, not only did it help me remember when my last period was, making it so much easier to communicate with my doctor at appointments, but I started to notice a pattern and after awhile I was able to use the app to generally predict the day I would get my period, and sometimes even the time. It’s not an exact science, just a general prediction of the days that I’m most likely to get, but it is much better than going 10 days and panicking because I have no clue! (Ha, that pun was totally not intended!)
Clue is a period and ovulation tracking app that you can download for free on iPhone and Android. It has been ranked as the top tracking app by the Obstetrics & Gynecology journal and in my personal experience has been extremely reliable. It uses science to help women identify unique patterns in their cycles.
The great thing about the app is that it shows your entire cycle history. Mine goes back all the way to 2014 and I can see what day each cycle occurred, how long it was between the last cycle and make general monthly predictions based on the past years.
Besides being able to track my cycle history over time, Clue has mood trackers, health logs and even exercise trackers. It shows a general estimate of ovulation so you can use that if you’re trying to get pregnant (or if you’re not trying). There are so many features of the Clue app and you can make notes, mark whether you had cramps, headaches, tender breasts, if you were happy, sad, sensitive or had PMS, if you got 0-3 hours of sleep, 3-6 hours of sleep, 6-9 hours or more than 9 hours, as well as input your energy levels.
You can also input when you had sex, if you had a high sex drive, whether it was protected or unprotected or if you used withdrawal. Clue uses all of this information and data that you add and has a unique algorithm that enables it to become smarter and make more accurate predictions the more often that you use it. Not only is it great for tracking your period, but it’s a great app to use daily so you can track your mood, sleep schedule and energy levels.
I would be a complete mess without my Clue app! Periods are inconvenient and using this app makes it just a little less inconvenient because of all the things I can do with it. Even when I’m on my period I don’t remember the day it started, so having something to remind me is a huge relief.
Ladies, if you don’t already use a period tracker, you have to try this one out. Do your body and mind a favor by learning about yourself and your cycle because I know it’s uncomfortable and inconvenient, but it doesn’t have to be stressful.
