Awhile back I made a list of Podcasts for Girl Bosses and a lot of people really liked it! I’m an avid listener of podcasts. I’m seriously obsessed with listening to them because there are just so many great ones out there!
I listen to podcasts while I’m working out, cleaning, cooking and even while I’m driving in the car. I just love finding great shows and listening to new episodes that give me great advice, a good laugh and much needed insight.
If you haven’t jumped on the podcast train by now, what are you even doing with your life? I love podcasts so much I should probably just start one already! Kidding. (But not really)
My Favorite Podcasts
1. Royally Obsessed
I am OBSESSED with Royally Obsessed. I started listening to Lisa and Kaitlin’s podcast back in April 2018 leading up to Meghan and Harry’s wedding. It was my favorite thing to listen to as I did my morning walking route through the neighborhood I lived near in East Lansing.
I’ve been obsessed with all things royal and I never knew that other normal humans were too! I totally thought I was the odd ball on that one, but I’m so glad that I’m wrong. Royally Obsessed is a really great podcast that talks about all the British royals, Meghan Markle, her father, and loads more.
If you’re a royal aficionado, I highly suggest listening to this podcast!
2. My Favorite Murder
I started listening to this podcast back in 2017. I never knew there were other murderinos out there who were obsessed with true crime and stories about murder.
I know it sounds really weird and creepy and maybe you’re thinking that maybe I’m a murder, but I promise you that I’m not! Murder itself is horrible and I feel so strongly for the families and loved ones of victims. For me personally, it’s interesting to hear about stories and true crime because I studied it for a long time in college.
I went to college for Paralegal Studies and Criminal Justice, so I’ve always been interested in the judicial side of crimes. I think that as humans, sometimes we’re interested in crime and murder simply for the fact of trying to comprehend how someone could actually do such a thing. The media and the news also has a large role to play in this because crime and murder is heavily reported on because the general public is so fascinated with knowing about it.
I really love this podcast because Karen and Georgia talk are hilarious. They drop the F bomb.. A lot. Each episode they pick their “favorite” murder and they discuss it and I really love how they did this podcast!
3. The Skinny Confidential
This podcast is also listed in my Top 10 Podcasts for Girl Bosses and I had to feature it here because it truly is one of my favorite podcasts to listen to. Lauryn and her husband Michael are the perfect duo and they really balance each other out with their personalities.
There is so much great advice in all the TSC episodes. From beauty tips, health, wellness, sex, relationships and even blogging and business, this podcast is a goldmine of great info and sometimes there’s just so much laughter and humor and it’s a great podcast to listen to if you’re looking for a mood boost.
4. The Goal Digger Podcast
I love Jenna Kutcher’s podcast. This one was also feature in my Girl Boss post. I love all the great business tips and advice Jenna gives. In a lot of her episodes she talks with inspirational, successful women and in other’s it’s just a solo episode by herself where she gives great advice.
This is my go-to podcast when I’m stuck in a blogging rut and trying to find some more inspiration and guidance.
Another true crime podcast here! This was the first podcast that I ever listened to and it was recommended to me way back in early 2017 by my cousin, Sydney. The first season of Serial explored the murder of Hae Min Lee and the conviction of her ex-boyfriend Adnan Syed. The most interesting thing about this case is that Adnan claimed innocence and after being convicted of murder in 2000 and spending 15 years in prison, the Maryland Court of Special Appeals finally granted his application to appeal his conviction.
The podcast explores the story, the evidence, the inconsistencies behind Hae Min’s death as well as Adnan’s claim of innocence. Even as he sat in jail for more than a decade, he remained confident of his innocence and shared his story. In March of 2018 Adnan was finally granted a new trial.
Serial currently has three seasons, each season on a different topic. It’s a really great listen and one of my all time favorite podcasts.
